Texas Will Never Host The Olympics For This One Reason
Texas has some of the most amazing, safe, pick-pocket-free cities to host the Olympic Games. Texas athletes have won more medals in the past compared to most countries, so why are we getting the cold shoulder?
According to CNN most of the state is just too hot and humid. During the summer, Texas becomes almost as unfriendly to its human inhabitants as Antarctica.
It's not just the humidity, it's the heat, and together they make an atmosphere that is the perfect recipe for heatstroke. Exerting yourself to the point of beating a world record in the Texas heat could be a health risk.
Most Of The World Is Too Hot To Host The Olympics
It's not just Texas, the entire country has been getting hotter every year. By 2050 even having the Olympics in Atlanta again like in 1996 would no longer be possible.
The time of year that the Olympics are held is a big factor. Australia is so hot, that they hosted the 2000 Summer Olympics in September and October, their spring.
The same thing happened in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The summer Olympics were held there in August, which is their winter.
The Temperature Is Just Too High In Texas
This might be the last time Paris ever hosts the Summer Games. It rained during the entire day of the outdoor opening ceremony and became very hot.
They had a few nice weather days at the end, but now temperatures in Paris are heating up again. No other place in the world has as much air conditioning as we do in Texas, so when it's hot in these cities, you sweat 24/7.
