Texas Treasure Hunters Bring Artifacts To Museum For Identification
Imagine you are an amateur archeologist and you found the most interesting thing. It could be a beautiful fossil, a precious metal, an amazing arrowhead, or a boring rock. Not knowing is the hardest part.

The Naranjo Museum of Natural History in Lufkin, Texas had a yearly outreach event that can help. For just $5 you could bring things and find out what they are.
According to naranjomuseum.org, the items were identified by expert Morris Weeks and Naranjo Museum founder, Dr. Neal Naranjo. Area residents brought their items to the Artifact Identification Weekend on Saturday, January 18, 2025 and Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Find Out What Tribe Your Arrowheads Came From
Living in Deep East Texas there are many native artifacts to find. I know many families with a bowl full of locally found arrowheads at home.
Morris Weeks assists the museum with Native American artifact research and identification. Weeks specializes in Native American History and can take your arrowheads and other artifacts and match them with the exact tribe.
