Viral Dashcam Video Leads To An Aggravated Assault Arrest In Texas

According to KTSM the Socorro Police Department (SCPD) arrested Luis Carrasco, 39, on Friday, December 13, 2024 for aggravated assault. He is being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.

The victim provided officers with a dashcam video of the assault that happened at the 10800 block of North Loop Drive. The video shows Carrasco letting the car pass him by pulling on the shoulder, only to brandish a weapon at the vehicle as it passed.

The road rage video was subsequently shared on a local Instagram page where it later went viral. Many people joined in the search for the driver with the weapon after watching it.

On December 13 SCPD conducted a traffic stop on a man they believed to be the individual in the clip. During questioning Carrasco admitted to being featured in the video.
