The rain didn't stop the East Texas Food Bank passing out food in Nacogdoches Friday. (October 23rd, 2020) Now they set their sights on helping people in the Lufkin area. They have been there for so many families here in their time of need.

The East Texas Food Bank is having a drive-thru produce distribution in Lufkin at the Expo Center. This event will be all about free produce and fresh items. Tuesday October 27th, 2020 from 10am - 12noon.

The distribution is on a first come first serve basis. Also, the type of produce is pending availability. There is no eligibility requirements to get the help. If you know someone that could use this, make sure and share this and pass it along.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak there has been a bigger need than normal. April was a huge month for food distribution. With so many closures and layoffs many families income has suffered. Lack of funds leads to hunger very quickly. The East Texas Food Bank is here to serve that need.

If you are planning on attending they are asking that you enter the Expo Center via Highway 69 Westbound. After you get your produce just exit onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The food boxes are full of nutritious fresh produce and other fresh items. You can even pick up a food box for a friend with a signed note from them. They have removed these barriers so they can make a difference in our area.

This is a great organization, that does amazing things for families and seniors right here in East Texas. If you would like to help them with these food distributions they are always welcoming to new volunteers. CLICK HERE. They are also a great place to do any kind of community service. State mandated or not.
