Lufkin Man Obstructs Gunshot Investigation
The Lufkin Police Department responded to a call of gunshots on Saturday in Lufkin. That led to the arrest of Courtney Howard for interfering with the investigation.
A neighbor called the police and said she and her son had been threatened with being shot by a female neighbor. When officers arrived at the home where the shots were fired, they were greeted at the front door by two men.
They asserted to the officers that there were no weapons in the house. During this discourse, the police said that they heard a gunshot from inside the home.

The officers knew the men in the doorway did not have weapons due to the clothing they were wearing, so when they heard the shots, they asked them both to move from the doorway.
One of the men complied with the officers, but Courtney Howard wouldn't move, according to the report. He refused even after officers had a visual on the female suspect inside the house.
Howard was eventually placed in handcuffs after officers used physical force to move him from the doorway, just as they noted that the woman began having a seizure.
