Local Lufkin Teen Jayla Carter Missing For Over A Week
UPDATE: Jayla Carter has been located and is safe.
- Missing: Jayla Carter, 15, is 5'6, 240 lbs, and has curly copper-colored hair.
- Jayla has been missing since Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
- Her family loves her, is worried about her, and wants her back home as soon as possible.
Jayla Carter has not been seen for over a week and the Lufkin Police Department needs your help to find her. The 15-year-old's family reported her missing Wednesday before last.
Jayla was last seen leaving Lufkin High School on foot, walking down Lufkin Avenue. According to the Lufkin Police Department, Jayla's phone does not currently have service.
Despite that, she connected to Wi-Fi and messaged her family to ask for money through CashApp. This is not Jayla's first time to run away from home.
Lufkin Police Department Is Asking For The Public's Help
When Jayla ran away in the past she was found twenty minutes to two hours from home, according to her family. LPD has no information on her current location and needs our help in locating this runaway teen.
Jayla has connections in the Crowley, Louisiana area and might go there, according to a press release from Jessica Pebsworth, communications director for the City of Lufkin.
Jayla is a Black female with a medium complexion, 5’6, 240 pounds, with short, curly copper-colored hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray sweater and tan pants and had a black backpack.
