Lufkin Police have made an arrest for theft and false report to a peace officer in connection to the Sunday morning alleged robbery of Wendy’s.

Restaurant shift manager Shaquille Teel – the alleged victim of the robbery – was arrested yesterday at Wendy’s without incident. Though the restaurant had no surveillance video on the side of the building where the “robbery” occurred, a neighboring business did. Detectives obtained that video which showed Teel walk to his truck, sit inside for roughly a minute and then walk back inside. One minute later the 911 call was made.

When officers arrived on the scene Sunday morning, Teel claimed he was walking to his vehicle to make a bank deposit when two black males pulled up in a black Cadillac and robbed him at gunpoint.

Teel remains in the Angelina County Jail.
