If you are leaving East Texas and headed towards the Houston area Monday, this might cause you to pause. I am so glad that they have started night work in our area. Traffic getting backed up during regular business hours is a pain, but if it effects you then it's the worst no matter what time of day. Be prepared before you venture out HWY 59 South.

Rhonda Oaks - TXDOT

Night work is expected to begin on US 59 in Corrigan Monday night, Sept. 9, and is expected to continue through most of the week, weather permitting.
Crews will begin milling the lanes and will apply an asphalt overlay from US 287 to FM 942. Work is expected to begin in the median and inside lanes and move to the outside lanes through the week. There will be alternating lane closures throughout the week.
Message boards will be in place warning motorists of the upcoming work and lane closures. Motorists should prepare for possible delays as work progresses. Reduce speed and stay alert for workers and moving equipment through the nighttime work hours.
