Deep Discounts: Shop In Lufkin Mall Closes For Good
By now you may have heard that all the Rue 21 stores nationwide are closing forever. The brand has filed for bankruptcy three times since it first opened.
This time it is different. They are declaring bankruptcy now because they have not been profitable since they went bankrupt in 2017.
According to WCVB.com, the company is around $200 million in debt. This is the final nail for the clothing retail store.
The CEO blames the pandemic, yet their problems go further back in time. Based in Pittsburgh, the company has 540 stores and almost 5,000 employees nationwide.

Some of those employees are from here in the Lufkin, Texas area. I feel for them, and I don't know how they will keep working and get paid. The employees know they need new jobs by May 16, which is the final day the stores will open.
