Lufkin Man In Jail For Lots Of Meth Twice In One Year

A Lufkin man has multiple charges after police found him for the second time this year with a large quantity of meth. Westley Alan Dorsett, 36, made the news on February 14, 2024 after being stopped by deputies.

According to the Lufkin Daily News, officers caught him in Etoile, Texas after he drew attention to himself by swerving lanes and causing sparks to fly when crossing a bridge, according to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office. During the ensuing traffic stop, they found two bags of methamphetamine with a combined total weight of 89 grams or 3.1 ounces.

He was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on a second-degree felony. Now just 7 months later, he is in the Angelina County Jail.

Dorsett was booked into the Angelina County Jail on September 3, 2024 after being arrested by Angelina County Sheriff's Deputies. He got many of the same charges from the first arrest, plus a few new ones.
