
Allentown Shooter Performed CPR On His Victim
Family members, residents, and people close to the case of a shooting death in Allentown have been very vocal. Now, more details have surfaced about the murder late Wednesday, May 7th, 2025.

Jeffery Arriola was fatally shot in Allentown, near Lufkin. The shooter, Philip Hunter Gersbach, notified the Angelina County Sheriff's Office that he had shot someone around 11:15 PM.
Shortly after Deputy Heather Burnaman was dispatched to the scene, when she arrived, she noted three men and a woman at the scene. According to the Lufkin Daily News, Gersbach and Arriola were there along with Kristy West and her father, James Griffith.
Both Agree That The Victim Threatened To Shoot Gersbach
When people saw a $15,000 bond for the Wednesday night murder, and the man who committed the offense getting out of jail on Thursday, they cried foul. Now, there have been more details that have surfaced, showing a clearer picture of that day.
According to the affidavit, Gersbach was headed home and got flagged down by Kristy West to tell him he was driving too fast past her residence. Gersbach was not too keen on that and repeatedly referred to her as an explicative.

Then Jeffery Arriola came out, whom Gersbach assumed was her husband, and told him not to yell at her, and he threatened to shoot Gersbach multiple times. Gersbach then allegedly shot Arriola in self-defense from the truck, then got out of the vehicle and shot him again.
Shooter Performs CPR On Man He Shot
Gersbach then performed CPR on Arriola until Deputy Burnaman arrived and began life-saving measures, joined by Officer Brayden. Gersbach was then arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail.
