An 11-year-old Nacogdoches girl who had been reported missing since early Sunday has been located.  According to a Nacogdoches Police Department Facebook post, Alyssa Collins has been found safe. Based on leads from detectives with the Nacogdoches Police Department, Alyssa was located by a Texas Ranger at a private residence in San Antonio on Wednesday, June 23rd. This was a result of a lot of hard work by the NPD Criminal Investigation Division who were determined to reunite Alyssa with her family.

According to previous reports, it is believed that the young girl ran away from her residence during the early morning hours of June 20th from the 700 block of East Lane Street in Nacogdoches.

Several Facebook posts from the girl's mother had indicated that the missing child's phone was pinged to the San Antonio area as early as the evening June 20.  The posts go on to state that law enforcement in San Antonio had triangulated the phone to be in a two-mile radius.  Officers had been going door to door in this area to try to secure leads in the case. Authorities at one time were pursuing the possibility of issuing an Amber Alert for Alyssa but one was never distributed.

The Nacogdoches Police Department would like to thank the San Antonio Police Department, the Texas Rangers, the Nacogdoches community and the many others for their assistance in bringing Alyssa Collins home unharmed. The investigation determining how the girl was able to travel to San Antonio continues. More updates will be passed along as details are given.
