The post says that the Nacogdoches officer is in extreme danger and needs immediate medical attention. The photo used in the hoax was stolen from a post on social media by the Great Falls Montana Police Department.

It featured Master Police/K9 Officer Katie Cunningham and congratulated her on becoming their first female firearms instructor in 2015.
10-Year-Old Photograph Used In Facebook Scam
In reality, it was just a scam trying to get you to share it, along with any malicious links and details inside. The woman was never a Nacogdoches Police Officer.
In a post on Facebook, the Nacogdoches Police Department outlines all the things that are wrong with the social media post in the hopes that the next time you see something similar, you can spot the scam.
Here is a list of issues with the false, missing police officer story:
- No NPD police officer is missing.
- None of the information is correct.
- The photo is of a person who is not an officer here.
- The uniform they are wearing is not Nacogdoches PD.
- Silver Alerts are only for finding missing or endangered elderly persons, not police officers.
This same photograph and situation has been duplicated for multiple police departments in other towns. It's just a scam, unlike the earthquake that happened the day before this hoax in Nacogdoches on Friday, March 28, 2025. It was very real.
