According to a post on the Nacogdoches Police Department's Facebook Page, officials are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 11-year-old child. Alyssa Collins is 5ft 3in tall with black hair and brown eyes.

Through continuing investigation, officials with the Nacogdoches Police Department believe that Alyssa ran away from her residence in the early morning of June 20th from the 700 block of East Lane Street in Nacogdoches.

Several Facebook posts from the girl's mother indicate that the missing child's phone was pinged to the San Antonio area as early as the evening June 20.  The posts go on to state that law enforcement in San Antonio had triangulated the phone to be in a two-mile radius.  This area includes a large apartment complex.  Officers have been going door to door in this area to try to secure leads in the case.

The last update on this series of posts came this morning (6/22) around 10:30.  According to that post, the issuance of an Amber Alert has been requested.  Also, there is an effort to get some of Alyssa's clothes to San Antonio so that a K-9 unit could track her scent in the area in which her phone was pinging.  Nacogdoches Police is also working on getting a subpoena to see who she last talked to on the phone, according to that post.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Alyssa Collins, you are asked to  please call the Nacogdoches Police Department at 936-559-2607.  You may also contact Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers at (936)560-INFO.
