Life is full of things that come and go. Oftentimes, we don't realize that we'll actually miss something until it's gone. Usually, we don't even realize it until it's been gone for quite some time. Every now and then, I'll catch myself thinking about things that I used to take for granted.

One of those times came up just a few days ago.

I caught myself thinking about "Tilt". Now, if you're not familiar with that name, that's alright. I will admit that it's been gone for quite sometime. Tilt was the name of the arcade that used to be located in the Lufkin Mall. It was in the space that's now occupied by the moonwalk/bounce house place, where kids can go have a great time jumping around.

Tilt was like a mini-version of Chuck E. Cheese - without the pizza. They had games of all sorts, perfect for any kid. And, just like traditional arcades, you could win tickets and trade them in for awesome prizes.

I spent tons of time in Tilt as a kid. Then, one day it was gone. It shut down, never to return. At the time, I didn't think much about it. Yes, it was sad to see it go, but I didn't dwell on it too much. Now, thinking back, I realize how very cool that place was, and how much fun I had while it was there.

Plus, it was the only arcade in the area. There's not another one in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, or any of the Deep East Texas area...

Who else remembers the Tilt arcade in the Lufkin Mall? Do you have any fond memories of it? Feel free to share them in the comment section below.
