Felony Arrests In Angelina County Feb 19 -25

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office, DPS Angelina County, Adult Probation, and the Lufkin Police Department contributed to the 22 felony arrests for February 19th - 25th, 2025 featured below.

This is up from last week's 19 felony arrests. Some criminals in Angelina County aren't waiting to get caught for their crimes.

They are just calling the police on themselves and giving up evidence of crimes. This was the case for a man charged with child porn this week along with his girlfriend.

Former East Texas Teacher & Partner Face Child Porn Charges

According to the Lufkin Daily News around 6:10 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 Michael Scott McCary, 37, of Lufkin called the police alerting them of his wish to harm himself.

When deputies arrived he told them that he no longer wished to commit suicide. He then proceeded to explain to deputies why he had wanted to harm himself and brought up issues with his girlfriend, Hillary Danielle Williams.

She then told deputies about some prior fights with McCary and that he was trying to blackmail her with pictures he had on his phone. She was employed at Wells ISD as a math teacher, though she is currently no longer with the institution.

When asked by deputies about photos he shouldn't have McCary said that he did and that Williams took them and sent them to him. They are both charged with crimes related to what was on their phones.
