There has been a lot of speculation and waiting for the newest Atwoods store in Lufkin to open its doors to customers. The date has been made and moved more than once during the refurbishing of the old K-Mart into an Atwoods location.

A sign out front of the store was spotted with a grand opening date.  It stated that they would be open for the first time at 7 AM on April 17, 2024.

When Is The Grand Opening Of Atwoods In Lufkin?

That question has been on people's minds for weeks now that the signs are on and around the building. The sign in the photo above placed out front doesn't talk about a grand opening, just that they will be open on April 17. Update: Atwoods recently released a retraction of this open date. There is no current timeline for the Lufkin store to open.

An actual grand opening usually involves discounts and specials that entice people to visit the store and become regular customers.

This Atwoods location received a warm welcome to the Lufkin area by immediately being robbed of some gates stored outside...Read More. We have all been keeping track of the progress at the store, and some might think that the robbery was part of the setback of the opening.

I'm sure losing $3500 worth of merchandise right out of the gate (sorry) was a hassle, but likely nothing to do with when they were ready to open.

They just recently finished striping the parking lot, and hopefully people will be shopping in the new store in about a month.
