Succulents seem to be on almost every millennial's wishlist. They have been gaining in popularity and some have even edged out houseplants.

Before 2007 I had never even seen one or knew what they were. Now they are all over every garden center in Texas.

All the plants I have gotten in the past from the SFA gardens have been very healthy and robust. It's time to get a houseplant or a succulent from them.

The 128-acre garden on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University has so many different plants. They are the go-to place to pick up new plants during their annual sales for your yard.

They are doing something different with their house plant and succulent sale this Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 8 am to 1 pm at 2900 Raguet Street in Nacogdoches. It will be held at the greenhouse, and you should get there early for the cream of the crop.

If you love plants this is the place to be in Deep East Texas. There will be a large assortment of house plants, succulents, and other fun plants.

You could pick up a Serissa japonica "Variegata" or "tree of a thousand stars". This flowering plant makes an excellent bonsai tree perfect for small spaces in bright, indirect light.

There are even a few tropical hibiscus that will be for sale. If you have never been to one of their sales, I can confirm that you are missing out.
