
21 Felony Arrests In Angelina County May 5th – 11th
Clinton Earl Johnson, 31 was among the 21 felony arrests in Angelina County for the prior week. He is in jail for an accident that occurred on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at his residence.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested him after a horrible accident that claimed the life of his six-year-old stepson. He is charged with a State Jail Felony of endangering a child.
Johnson's bond has been set at $50,000. The crime committed involved two children, his truck, and a grill.
Lufkin Man Behind Bars For Allowing 10-Year-Old To Drive
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by KTRE, Johnson allowed a 10-year-old girl to move a pickup. The girl accidentally drove it into the porch, injuring his stepson, who later died in a Lufkin hospital.
The affidavit went on to say that the Angelina County Sheriff's Office got the call and arrived at Oakwood Drive in the Fuller Springs area at 1 am.

They had gotten a call about a vehicle crash at the residence. Upon arrival, investigators saw that a Nissan Titan registered to Johnson had crashed into the back porch area and was parked inside the covered porch.
Son's Mother And Johnson Admit To Drinking
There were boards and poles on the ground. Next to the pickup, he noted a grill with servings of grilled chicken next to it. The pickup had hit many items, including a tricycle next to the porch that the girl was riding before the accident.
The girl had driven on backroads before, but got confused and pushed on the gas. The deputies reported the smell of alcohol from the mother and Johnson, and they both admitted to having three or four drinks while grilling.
