22 Felony Arrests In Angelina County Sept 30 – Oct 6

There were 22 felony arrests in Angelina County from September 30th - October 6th, 2024. Last week there were also 22 felony arrests and only 12 the week before.

Zavalla Man Back In Angelina County To Face Murder Charges

Jeremy Wayne Gladden, 41 of Zavalla, is now in the Angelina County Jail. He was being held in Arkansas after being caught there in January for the murder of Lawrence Jason Wise, according to the Lufkin Daily News.

Wise was a relative of Gladden whose body was found in a shed outside his house near Zavalla. After clues pointed to Gladden as the main suspect deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office got word that he had fled to Johnson County, Arkansas.

Police in Johnson County located a truck belonging to Wise, and arrested Gladden on January 26, after a foot pursuit. Gladden had been held in Arkansas since his arrest.

Murder Suspect Fights Extradition To Texas

Gladden fought extraction to Texas, but was picked up and returned on a governor's warrant by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office. Murder charges were filled and Gladden had his first court appearance on Monday, October 7, 2024.
