11 Felony Arrests In Nacogdoches County Aug 10 – 16
There are currently 298 inmates in the Nacogdoches County Jail. 24 of them are pretrial Class A and B Misdemeanor offenders.

The pretrial felons and state jail felons pictured below were arrested from August 10 to August 16, 2024 in and around Nacogdoches, Texas. There have been 3,106 bookings in and out of the jail so far this year.

There were 7 fewer felony arrests this week than last week in Nacogdoches County. Most of the charges this week were because of drugs.
Mandatory sentencing for having less than a gram of drugs in Penalty Group 1, fewer than 20 units in 1-A, and under one gram in 1-B all receive mandatory state jail time according to the Texas Controlled Substances Act.
Penalty Group 1 is reserved for the drugs that are most likely abused and could cause addiction, with no medical use for the offender. These are the most prosecuted drugs and include, but are not limited to the following:
- Cocaine
- Heroin
- Methamphetamine
- Morphine
- Oxycodone
- Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol)
- Gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB)
- Ketamine
- Fentanyl
Drugs On This List Have The Most Severe Punishments
In Texas, you will receive automatic state jail time of not less than 180 days or more than two years if you have substances on this list. When you look at the charges below, if you see PG 1 on a charge, that is what it means.
