Felony Arrests In Nacogdoches County May 21 – June 6

The report only focuses on felony offenders in Nacogdoches County for the past week. Today, we feature 11 citizens arrested with felony-level charges.

An Alto woman went on quite a rampage in Nacogdoches earlier this week. Rayla Eleigha Upshaw, 22, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering a child.

The vehicle that Upshaw crashed her vehicle into had a one-year-old child on board. According to KTRE, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the 5400 block of FM 1638 around 12:40 PM on Sunday, June 1st.

An investigation revealed that Upshaw was accused of crashing the back of her vehicle into the front of another one, containing the child. This could have been a road rage incident, an insurance hit-and-run scam, or a personal vendetta.

So far, there has been no word other than the charges. Rayla Upshaw is now in the Nacogdoches County Jail on $60K in bonds.

Justin Wade Berney, 52, was arrested for possession of child pornography. The third-degree felony offense could land him some jail time if he is convicted.
