Felony Arrests Down In Angelina County This Week

Though many misdemeanor arrests were in Angelina County this week, felony arrests were way down. That is not to minimize the four felony arrests this week.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office and Lufkin Police Department arrested these citizens off the streets. They committed many different crimes, but even with the low number of arrests, controlled substances made the most impact in our felony arrests in Angelina County.

When I saw those two separate offenses listed, they seemed like the same thing, but they are very different. Robbery is a crime against a person, while burglary is a crime against a building or thing, like a corporation.

Robbery is usually considered a more violent crime and leads to harsher sentences.
